Veronica Burton is now in her rookie year with the Dallas Wings. She was the 7th overall pick in the WNBA draft. She looks to make an immediate impact on the team.
Veronica immediately stepped in as a contributor for the Wildcats as a freshman, starting 31 games and leading the team in assists and steals. As a sophomore, she continued to ascend, winning Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year. As a junior, she won her second consecutive Big Ten DPOY and tacked on an All Big-Ten First Team selection as well. As a senior in 2021-22, she served as a team captain and played a key role for Northwestern. She started in all 29 games and averaged 17.8 points per game. She continued her dominance and became a top prospect in the WNBA draft.
Veronica Burton is a guard for the Northwestern Wildcats. A four-year starter at Newton (MA) High School and the Boston Globe Player of the Year as a senior, she chose Northwestern over a legion of other options, continuing her family's Northwestern tradition- her father Steve played quarterback and her mother Ginni was a Northwestern swimmer.
