As the Head Women’s Basketball Coach at the University of Miami, Coach Tricia Cullop brings a rich legacy of success and leadership from her previous tenure at the University of Toledo, where she became the winningest coach in the program's history–a testament to her success in creating space for authenticity and community on and off the court throughout her over 20-year coaching career.
Coach Cullop's coaching journey is marked by her 16-season achievement at Toledo. Under her guidance, Toledo clinched five MAC regular season championships, made 11 postseason appearances, including two trips to the NCAA Tournament, and won a WNIT championship. Before Toledo, Cullop spent eight years at the University of Evansville, where she was named Missouri Valley Conference Coach of the Year in her final season.
A six-time Mid-American Conference Coach of the Year, Cullop is respected for her leadership both on and off the court. She served as the President of the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and received the WBCA Carol Eckman Integrity in Coaching Award in 2022, reflecting her commitment to ethics, sportsmanship, and student-athlete development.
Coach Cullop has always been a trailblazer. As a player, she was a record-setting All-American and was inducted into the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame. At Purdue University, Coach Cullop earned a bachelor’s degree in communications and served as a team captain. She led the Boilermakers to their first-ever Big Ten championship and guided them through three consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances. Her leadership was honored with the Purdue Mortar Board Female Student-Athlete of the Year award in 1993.
Coach Cullop is committed to serving those around her. She believes creating space for fearless authenticity enables genuine connections that better not only women’s sports, but also the world.
