A former Washington state champion in 100 meter and 200 meter dash, Mays played his collegiate football at USC and was a 3x All-American during his time as a Trojan. He was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2010 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers and went onto play 66 NFL regular season games with 49ers, Cincinnati Bengals, and Oakland Raiders.
