After starring in QB1: Beyond the Lights as a high schooler, Tate Martell has had a long football journey. A five-star recruit out of high school, he committed to Ohio State, where he redshirted in 2017. As a redshirt freshman in 2018, he battled for the starting job but ultimately served as a backup for Dwayne Haskins. Martell appeared in six games in 2018, finishing with 269 passing yards, one passing touchdown, 128 rushing yards, and two rushing touchdowns.
In January 2019, Martell announced he would transfer to the University of Miami. He spent two seasons at Miami before transferring to the University of Nevada Las Vegas in 2021. Soon after, Tate left college football to focus on his business ventures.
