Book Sir Rod Patterson

There is no man more befitting of the title "A Man On A Mission" than Roderick Patterson, also known as Sir Rod. His positive outlook has earned him tremendous success for many years. As a resident of Atlanta, GA, he has established several organizations, including Sounds of Knowledge, a school-touring company that visits local and regional schools to deliver positive messages to youth through the power of music. In the past, Sir Rod led one of the country's largest school assembly companies, Diversity Showcase Assemblies, where he spearheaded efforts that impacted the lives of more than a million children nationwide. Additionally, he has worked as an art director for So-So Def Recordings and Georgia Perimeter College.

As an entertainer, artist, motivational speaker, and a 7 x published author, Sir Rod considers his life to be a positive example for others, particularly young people. Recently, he founded Don't Bully, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering underserved children and communities by providing anti-bullying and anti-drug educational assembly programs.

Speaking Topics

STAY IN YOUR LANE (Spiritual Development)

Sir Rod opens with an electrifying 10–15-minute Motown Medley from the Temptations to Michael Jackson, setting the stage for a deeply personal and spiritual journey. From his days working with So So Def Recordings to raising his daughter, acclaimed actress Carra Patterson, Sir Rod reveals how divine guidance — even when unrecognized — shaped his path. This session inspires audiences to trust the process and see how all things work together for good.

LIFE IS A STAGE (Personal & Business Development)

With a show-stopping Motown medley to start, Sir Rod shares his career highlights before diving into lessons from his book The Ten Commandments of the Stage. Audiences discover how the same principles that create stars on stage can empower them to shine in any career or business. Perfect for youth, professionals, and aspiring leaders.

FIVE AND FUN (Anti-Bullying)

A high-energy musical journey from James Brown to today’s hits breaks the ice and earns students’ attention. Sir Rod then delivers a powerful message on bullying—exploring verbal, cyber, accidental, and the most dangerous of all: self-bullying. He teaches students how to recognize it, fight it, and choose a better path.

RED RIBBON (Drug Awareness)

Sir Rod uses music, humor, and authenticity to connect with students on their level. Once the energy is set, he transitions into a “real talk” discussion about drugs, alcohol, and tobacco—delivered by someone who’s walked the walk and knows how to reach young hearts and minds.

ALIVE AND FREE (Anti-Violence)

Speaking directly to at-risk youth, Sir Rod exposes the mindset behind street violence — what he calls “Hood Disease.” With honesty and urgency, he challenges destructive narratives and equips students with the truth: survival means breaking the cycle, not repeating it.

FATHERHOOD: LEARN FROM MY MISTAKES (Child Support Awareness)

This honest and insightful 90-minute session (including Q&A) helps men and women navigate the complex realities of the child support system. Drawing from personal experience, Sir Rod offers wisdom, warnings, and practical guidance on making better life choices as a parent, partner, and provider.

FROM AFRICA TO AMERICA (Black History / Multicultural Education)

This unforgettable Black History Month experience combines storytelling, character, and cultural pride. Sir Rod delivers a masterful presentation tracing the journey from Africa to modern-day America, reminding audiences of the resilience, brilliance, and spirit that define the African-American legacy.
