Rhyne Howard currently plays as a guard for the Atlanta Dream in the Women's NBA. She was the first overall pick in the WNBA draft in 2022. During her time in college playing as a Kentucky Wildcat, she scored over 2,900 points and became one of nine players in women’s basketball history to be named to the Associated Press First Team three times. In 2018, the season ended with her being recognized as the National Freshman of the Year. Howard then participated on the USA team in 2018 and 2019, leading them to a gold medal and was awarded MVP honors in 2018. She won back-to-back SEC Player of the Year Awards in 2020 and 2019. A prolific scorer, the 6'2 guard was second-fastest in school history to reach 1,000 career points, doing so in only 53 games. In 2022, Howard was announced as the WNBA Rookie of the Year.
