Rajai Lavae Davis is a retired Major League Baseball outfielder. He graduated from Connecticut’s New London High School as a top three-sport athlete in football, basketball, and baseball, and went on to study at the University of Connecticut at Avery Point, where in 2012, Davis was inducted into UConn Avery Point's Athletics Hall of Fame. In 2001 Rajai Davis was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates, and in 2006 he made his Major League Baseball debut. Since 2006, Rajai embarked on a historic career path – he’s appeared for eight Major League Baseball teams over the span of 14 seasons, including the San Francisco Giants, Oakland Athletics, Toronto Blue Jays, Detroit Tigers, Cleveland Indians, Boston Red Sox, and New York Mets. In 2016, Davis was the American League leader in stolen bases and helped lead the Cleveland Indians to a World Series appearance. Although the Cleveland Indians lost Game 7 to the Chicago Cubs, 8-7, Rajai Davis’ two-run, game-tying home run off Aroldis Chapman during the eighth inning is one of the most dramatic home runs in MLB History and made the 2016 World Series Game 7 a classic. With over 400 stolen bases, Rajai Davis is also one of MLB’s top-ranking players in career stolen bases. During his spare time, Davis enjoys spending time with his wife Marissa, and their two children Jada and Jordan.
