Mya Hooten is an American artistic gymnast entering her fifth season at the University of Minnesota. She is a three-time Junior Olympics National Team member (2017-19) and competed in the senior group of the 2019 Nastia Liukin Cup. Hooten had an exemplary first year in college gymnastics, earning several Freshman of the Week honors and a Big Ten Event Specialist of the Week award, as well as becoming the first Gopher in program history to achieve a perfect 10 on floor. She earned several accolades including, First Team All-Big Ten, WCGA All-American on the floor, NCAA All-American on the floor, and NCAA Second Team on Vault. She followed her freshman year up with an even better second season, adding three more perfect 10 scores on floor to her resume. She set career highs in bars and vault, and she finished first on floor at the Big Five Meet and brought home the Big Ten event championship title on floor. She finished the season earning NCAA Championship First Team All-American honors on floor and Second Team on vault. She was also WCGA First Team All-American on floor Second Team on vault, and Second Team All-Big Ten.
