Miles started playing indoor volleyball during his sophomore year at Dos Pueblos High School in Santa Barbara and instantly fell in love with the game. He then went to UCSB, graduating with a degree in Sociology, before deciding to pursue a pro beach volleyball career. In 2008, Miles' club team, the Santa Barbara Spikers, finished fifth at the 2008 Junior Olympics. Evans was named All-West Conference League First Team in 2010, leading the state in kills as a sophomore. Miles made his pro debut in 2011 on the Jose Cuervo Tour in Manhattan Beach with Morgan Mainz.
In 2015, Miles competed in the USA Beach Volleyball Elite Development Program and Pan American Games team, and later qualified for the first time at the 2016 AVP Huntington Beach Open, taking 5th place with Curt Toppel. The season after, Miles started playing FIVB with Bill Kolinske. They placed 2nd in 1-star in Aalsmeer, 3rd in 2-star in Sydney, and earned a wellfought 9th place at a 4-star in China. Miles earned a FIVB title in 2021 at a competition in the Netherlands, but his best AVP finish was a second at the 2019 Hermosa Beach Open with Ryan Doherty until earlier this year when Evans, and partner Andy Benesh, won their first ever AVP Tour title at the AVP Denver Open.
Outside of volleyball, Miles enjoys surfing and other outdoor activities. His favorite book is “It” by Stephen King.
