Chef Michelle Bernstein, a Miami native, is one of the most influential and iconic chefs in South Florida. Her culinary inspiration is drawn from the discipline of her ballet background, her cultural roots and upbringing, her travels around the world, and her family recipes.
Michelle is a James Beard Award winner for Best Chef: South, 2008. Her incredible talent and personality have taken her outside the kitchen and into the world of books and television, she is the author of Cuisine a Latina (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt 2008), Host of Check Please South Florida (WPBT2) and Host of Soflo Taste (Channel 10).
Bernstein cooks food she feels passionate about and knows that this love translates to her diners. For this reason, Bernstein and her husband/business partner David Martinez, own and operate MBC Michelle Bernstein Catering, a full-service catering company as well as her popular café concept, Crumb on Parchment. Outside of the kitchen, Michelle dedicates time to Common Threads, an after-school program for underprivileged kids, and regularly appears on an array of national TV shows, from Top Chef to Good Morning America.
