Matt Nagy is an American Football Coach and former Quarterback. Nagy played college football for the Delaware Fightin Blue Hens from 1997 to 2000. While playing at Delaware Nagt set several school records such as total season passing yards. Nagy ended his career at Delaware with a total of 8,214 passing yards, 58 touchdown passes, and a rating of 146.74, all of which were best in team history.
After not being selected in the NFL draft Nagy took his talents to the Arena Football League where he would go on to play for the New York Dragons, Carolina Cobras, Georgia Force, and Columbus Destroyers. He would finish his Arena Football League career with 18,866 passing yards, 374 Touchdowns, and a passer rating of 115.11.
In 2009, Nagy was hired as an intern for the Philadelphia Eagles. The following year, Nagy was hired for a full-time job with the Eagles as an assistant to Reid. When Reid moved to Kansas City to be their head coach Nagy came with him and was promoted to co-offensive coordinator. After a 5-0 start to the season to the 2017 season Nagy was promoted to the sole offensive coordinator. In 2018, Nagy was hired by the Bears to be the 16th head coach in team history. In his first season, he led the team to a 12-4 record. In 2022, Nagy returned to the Chiefs as a senior assistant and quarterbacks coach. In his first season back, the Chiefs won Super Bowl LVII against the Eagles. Nagy has since been promoted to the offensive coordinator of the Chiefs for the 2023 season.
