Book Lydia Desnoyers

Lydia C. Desnoyers is a 40-year-old first-generation Haitian American and the founder of DesCPA Business Advisory. Feeling inspired by her grandmother and godmother, two resilient Haitian women who migrated to the United States in search of a better life while learning to overcome adversity every step of the way, she decided to follow in their footsteps and pursue meaningful work that empowers women. As the founder of the Miami-based CPA firm, DesCPA and her coaching business, The Premium Profit®, Lydia provides business advisory, CFO solutions, and business strategy coaching to women-owned law firms, CPAs, and other small businesses.

Before fulfilling her dream of becoming a successful entrepreneur who inspires and encourages others, Lydia attended Florida State University, rec. She received a bachelor's degree in Accounting before pursuing a Master's in Accounting at Nova SE University. She would eventually take on the role of an accountant at Carnival Corp and Plc., tasked with accounting and internal auditing responsibilities that helped her expand her knowledge and gain confidence in her abilities. Working with an incredible mentor who believed in her more than she did herself at the time gave her the push to keep moving forward, excelling in her role over the years.

Lydia's educational background and hands-on experience in the field helped her earn the title of Certified Public Accountant and Certified Fraud Examiner. After spending six years with Carnival and 12 years in the industry, she felt confident in her decision to start her practice and has since helped dozens of firms with their advisory needs. Recognized as an expert in the industry with over 14 years of experience, Lydia has had the opportunity to appear on various media outlets, including NBC Online, Fox News Radio, Credit Karma, and NPR.

Known for her relatable personality and infectious smile, Lydia connects well with others, loves to meet new people, and thoroughly enjoys public speaking. She regularly volunteers as a mentor to guide and support those who need it. She has even started The Premium Profit, a brand dedicated to helping business owners develop the skills necessary to hit goals and achieve success. As someone incredibly passionate about diversity, equity, and inclusion, it means nothing more to Lydia than to help those from underserved and disadvantaged communities interested in starting their businesses or receiving the guidance needed to help their companies grow.

Lydia currently covers insightful topics on mindset, wealth, business, finances, and other valuable information individuals can use to their advantage on their entrepreneurial journey. She believes in the importance of sharing her vast knowledge with others and is on a mission to empower women of all ages to make major moves in their lives that can lead to financial independence. Lydia does this through her work as a public speaker. She discusses topics such as Women’s Empowerment, Finance, Entrepreneurship, Living Intentionally, the Journey to Being a Single Mother by Choice, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion with her audience. She also regularly speaks on Business Strategy and Becoming a Chief Entrepreneur Officer.

Pursuing her dreams of becoming a mother with the help of a donor, Lydia moved to Barbados, revolutionizing her business model to make things work. She is excited about this new and exciting journey in her life, where she'll have the opportunity to run a successful business while still having more than enough time to spend with her daughter.

When she's not busy working or mentoring others, Lydia enjoys the simple things in life, such as meditating, journaling, and spending hours on the phone catching up with friends. Referring to herself as a global citizen, she enjoys traveling around the world and immersing herself in new cultures and experiences. She's a fan of the beach and is a frequent visitor to beachfront restaurants where she can grab a bite to eat with loved ones before hanging out by the ocean and enjoying the beautiful weather.
