Kit DesLaurier is a professional skier and mountaineer and the first person to climb and ski all Seven Summits. Kit earned two consecutive World Freeskiing Women’s Champion titles (2004-2005) and has pioneered the first female ski descents on Mt. Everest, Aconcagua, Antarctica’s Vinson Massif, and New Zealand’s Mt. Aspiring. Plus she’s made several first ski descents of the US Arctic’s highest peaks.
Kit is a North Face-sponsored athlete and has been a member of The North Face Global Athlete Team since 2005. National Geographic named her the 2015 Adventurer of the Year and Outside Magazine named her one of the women who has made the biggest impact on our world. In 2019, Kit was inducted into the US Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame.
Beyond skiing, Kit is an environmental and self-proclaimed "Aslakan Refuge" advocate and sits on the board of the Alaskan Wilderness League. As one of the few individuals who have gotten to see these amazing landscapes, Kit feels it is her responsibility to maintain and preserve these lands. She is also an advocate for POW (protect our Winters), an organization that helps passionate outdoor people protect the places and lifestyles they love from climate change.
