Jonathan Malangu Kuminga, a Congolese-American professional basketball player, was born on October 6, 2002, in Goma, DR Congo. In 2016, Kuminga and his family relocated to the United States so Kuminga could play high school basketball. He attended several schools for high school and decided he would bypass college basketball to join the NBA G League Ignite. Jonathan turned down schools such as Duke, Auburn, Texas Tech, and Kentucky when making his decision. In the 2021 NBA Draft, the Golden State Warriors selected Jonathan Malangu Kuminga as the 7th overall pick. He has had an impressive start to his career, winning an NBA Championship in his rookie year, and continuing to perform at the highest level.
