Jesse “Filayyyy” Jones is a social media icon with over 2 million Instagram followers under the widely known Filayyyy brand, and a professional basketball player, most recently playing for the KW Titans in the Canadian NBL. Playing basketball with his friends was always a part of his life, but before his social media stardom, Jesse was a young chef, helping his father, his #1 role model, and best friend, in their family-owned restaurant every chance he could get. Jesse fought for his place in college basketball and now professional basketball, but it was his unique personality and verbiage that brought him to social media fame among the most elite in the basketball world. It all started with his desire to find his catch phrase when playing basketball. With filet mignon on his mind, while watching the 2015 NBA Finals, Jesse sang out “filayyyy”, and the rest is history. He thought it sounded great, shared the sound with others, came up with more unique catchphrases while commenting on basketball highlights, and his fame exploded.
