The #1 singles player and two-time team captain leading Stanford University to back-to-back NCAA national championships in the mid-1990s, Jeff successfully navigated the world of professional tennis. Jeff turned professional and joined the ATP Tennis Tour immediately after his 1996 graduation from Stanford University, where he earned a B.A. in Economics. He quickly rose through the ATP rankings, playing in the main draw of all four majors (Wimbledon, French Open, Australian Open, and U.S. Open).
In 1997, Jeff was named Rookie of the Year by Tennis Week magazine. At the 1997 U.S. Open, Jeff played a nationally televised 2nd round feature match against Michael Chang (ranked # 2 in the world), losing in four sets. In 2004, Jeff broke into the top 100 in the ATP world rankings at 30, the oldest American to do so for the first time. He was the 10th-ranked American in the ATP world rankings, after such notables as Andy Roddick, Andre Agassi, James Blake, Todd Martin, and Taylor Dent. Jeff also battled with the best tennis players in the world, including such legends as Pete Sampras, Michael Chang, Andy Roddick, and Roger Federer.
Jeff concluded his playing career in 2007 to launch a second career as a high-performance tennis coach. He built a successful online tennis instruction platform called Tennis Evolution that has impacted millions of players and coaches worldwide. From the adversity that Jeff faced as an elite athlete, he relentlessly pursued optimal performance, specifically focusing on physical, mental, and emotional health strategies.
Jeff has worked and studied with top experts in the world in mental conditioning, stress reduction, emotional intelligence, longevity, biofeedback, nutrition, injury prevention, and human movement.
