On November 7, 1994, in Baltimore Maryland, Garrin Davis and Kenya Brown welcomed baby boy Gervonta "Tank" Davis. Gervonta and his sibling, Demetris Fenwick, also a professional boxer, grew up living a rough life. Not only did they live in one of the most crime-ridden areas in West Baltimore, but both parents were cocaine addicts. This meant the parents were in and out of jail and the kids were from foster home to group home.
Little did he know, things were about to change. At the age of five, Tank first started training at Upton Boxing Center with Calvin Ford, who eventually became Davis' longtime coach. Gervonta had a very successful amateur career finishing with a record of 206-15. He also won the 2012 National Golden Gloves Championship, three straight Silver Gloves Championships, two National Junior Olympics gold medals, two National Police Athletic League Championships, two Ringside World Championships, and other achievements.
Gervonta "Tank" Davis continues to dominate at the pro level. He has successfully claimed multiple world championships in three weight classes, which include: the WBA(regular) Lightweight Title, the WBA (regular) Super Lightweight Title, the IBF Super Featherweight Title, and the WBA (super) Super Featherweight Title. He is largely known for winning these titles in three different divisions, his punching power, with his knockout-to-win percentage being 93%, becoming a 5-time world champion, and becoming one of the best fighters pound for pound, in today's boxing.
