A native of Queens, NY – Emily Engstler made waves as a high-schooler earning McDonald’s All-American, New York Gatorade Player of the Year, and an invite to the Jordan Brand Classic. Engstler started her collegiate career at Syracuse where she earned ACC Co-Sixth Player of the Year. She transferred her senior year to Louisville and was quickly a standout, being named to the ACC All-Defensive Team and First-Team All-ACC. Engstler was selected #4 overall in the 2022 WNBA Draft by the Indiana Fever and had an impressive rookie season. Post-season, she represented the United States in the FIBA 3x3 Under-23 Nations League in France. Following her rookie season, she played one year for the Minnesota Lynx and is now a member of the Washington Mystics.
Emily played the first three years of her college career at Syracuse University where she averaged 8.0 points 7.5 rebounds and 1.2 steals across 82 games. She played her final collegiate season with the Louisville Cardinals where she started all 34 games played and averaged 11.9 points, 9.4 rebounds, and 2.3 assists. After the season Emily was named to the ACC All-First Team and the ACC All-Defensive Team.
