A native of North Carolina, Elissa Cunane played college ball for NC State. She had a memorable collegiate career, earning ACC All-Freshman Team. Third-Team All-American, 2X First Team All-ACC, Second Team All-American, and 2021 ACC Tournament MVP. Cunane represented the United States at the 2021 FIBA AmeriCup, where they won gold. In the 2022 WNBA Draft, she was selected 17th overall by the Seattle Storm. Cunane is currently playing professionally in the Czech Republic.
At N.C. State, She was named to the ACC Honor Roll every year of her college career and was a two-time All-ACC Academic Team selection. In 2021 Elissa was a CoSIDA Academic All-American. She averaged 16.3 points at 8.0 rebounds across her career including 23.2 points at 9.0 rebounds during the 2021 ACC Tournament where she led the Wolfpack to their second consecutive title and was named the 2021 ACC Tournament MVP. Cunane is also a two-time finalist for the Lisa Leslie Award and John R. Wooden National Player of the Year Award.
