Dez Bryant is currently a free agent wide receiver in the National Football League. He grew up in Texas and attended Lufkin High School where he was a standout football player. His junior season he caught 48 passes for 1,025 yards and 16 touchdowns, leading Lufkin to a 14-1 record and a state semifinal appearance. His senior season was even better, as Dex accounted for 1,207 yards and 21 touchdowns with an All-State selection. A four-star recruit out of high school, Bryant then committed to Oklahoma State University.
His freshman year saw him set a school record for most receiving yards in a single game with 155 against Kansas. He finished the year with 622 yards and six touchdowns. The 2008 season was even better, as Bryant finished with 87 catches for 1,480 yards and 19 touchdowns. He was regarded as the nation’s top receiver.
Bryant has gone on to have a highly successful NFL career. Regarded as the best receiver in his draft class, he was selected by the Dallas Cowboys 24th overall. In his rookie season he collected 45 catches for 561 yards and six receiving touchdowns, earning him All-Rookie honors. Dez stayed with the Cowboys through the 2017 season, spending 8 seasons with the legendary team, and cementing his legacy as one of the premier talents at wide receiver the league has seen. He still holds the record for the most touchdowns in Cowboys history with 73, and has the most touchdown catches of anyone since 2012 with 58. Bryant has also been to the Pro Bowl an impressive 3 times.
In 2020 Bryant was signed to the Baltimore Ravens practice squad, and was elevated to the active roster in multiple weeks. He is now a free agent.
