Demario Davis is an NFL Linebacker for the New Orleans Saints. In Brandon, Mississippi, Davis attended Brandon High School where he was a three-sport athlete in football, basketball, and track. He excelled in football, recording 81 tackles, six interceptions and a sack his senior year, while also scoring four touchdowns as a receiver, all of which earning him a spot on the Clarion Ledger All-Metro team. He later played college football at Arkansas State University, recording a team-leading 80 tackles as a sophomore and earning all-conference honors his junior and senior seasons.
Davis was drafted by the New York Jets in the third round of the NFL Draft in 2012. He signed a four-year, $2.81 million contract with a $618,000 signing bonus. After a successful stint with New York that saw him earn the 15th-highest overall grade among 60 inside linebackers by Pro Football Focus, Davis became an unrestricted free agent after the 2015 season. In 2016 the Cleveland Browns signed him to a two-year, $8 million contract with a $2 million signing bonus. He finished the season with 99 combined tackles, two pass deflections, and two sacks in 16 games.
In 2018, after returning for a season to the Jets, Demario again became an unrestricted free agent. Thought of as the top linebacker in free agency, the New Orleans Saints signed him to a three-year, $24 million contract with a $9.2 million signing bonus. He later signed a three-year, $27 million extension with the Saints, where he currently plays.
