Danny Kanell is a college football analyst for CBS Sports and SiriusXM. Prior to working at CBS he was at ESPN and the co-host of Russillo & Kanell. He joined ESPN in 2010 as a college football game and studio analyst, primarily on ESPNU. He previously called the ABC Saturday afternoon college football game, in addition to ESPN’s Friday night game telecasts.
Kanell’s athletic expertise spans both the collegiate and professional level in multiple sports; after playing quarterback at Florida State for four years, he was drafted into the NFL by the New York Giants in 1996 and also played for the Atlanta Falcons and the Denver Broncos until 2004. Kanell also played baseball for the Florida Seminoles and was drafted by the New York Yankees after his junior year at Florida State. He was selected as the 1995 ACC Player of the Year and the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame Scholar Athlete. Kanell was inducted into the Florida State Hall of Fame in 2012.
