Bria Hartley is a French-American point guard currently playing for the Phoenix Mercury. A North Babylon, NY native, Hartley had a dominant high school career with the North Babylon High School Bulldogs, where she had per game averages of 30 points, 8.3 rebounds, 7.4 assists, 5.9 steals, and 5 blocks in her senior year, winning New York's Miss Basketball in 2010. She then attended the University of Connecticut, where she was selected as the Big East Freshman of the Year, and was a two-time NCAA Champion in 2013 and 2014, winning All-NCAA Tournament Team in each of the championship-winning seasons. She helped the Huskies to an unprecedented win-loss record of 144-11 in her four years, and finished eighth place on the UConn scoring list. Hartley was then drafted 7th overall in the 2014 WNBA Draft, but was traded on draft night from the Seattle Storm to the Washington Mystics. In her rookie season, she made the WNBA All-Rookie Team, as she averaged 9.7 points per game in 29 out of 34 starts. In 2017, she would then go to her hometown team, the New York Liberty, where she helped them reach the number 3 seed, going on a 10-game winning streak to finish the season. In 2020, she signed with the Phoenix Mercury, breaking out as she set career highs in points, assists and shooting percentages.
