Brendan Hines-Ike is a defender for DC United in Major League Soccer. The Denver, Colorado native spent time in the Chivas USA academy before attending Creighton University and playing three seasons for the Bluejays. Brendan transferred to the University of South Florida for his final season of college soccer, and in 2015 he began his pro career in the Swedish top flight with Örebro SK. Brendan impressed in Sweden, and in 2018 he earned a move to K.V. Kortrijk in the Belgian first division. After three seasons in Belgium, Brendan returned to the US with DC United and is under contract through 2024.
Brendan and his wife, Monique, met at Creighton. They now have a baby daughter, and in addition to spending time with his family, Brendan enjoys golfing, working with kids, and finding ways to give back to the community. During his time as a pro athlete, Brendan has continued his intellectual development through online courses as well as connecting with influential individuals. Always motivated to learn, Brendan is particularly interested in community-engaged events, helping kids develop and grow self-confidence, networking, and investing.
