Ava Satterfield is currently a member of the University of Iowa Women's Rowing team. She has rowed throughout high school. In June 2021, she won the Women's Quad Sculls at the USRowing Youth National Rowing Regatta. She has also had various high placements at other regattas. She was also a member of the National Honor Society from 2019 to 2021 and received the Iowa Seal of Biliteracy in Spanish/English in 2020.
