Andy has always been a premier volleyball athlete. During his high school career at Palos Verdes High, he was recognized as a 2013 AVCA High School Senior All-American first-team selection, was included on the Volleyball Magazine All-American first team, Volleyball Magazine Fab 50 list, South Bay Daily Breeze All-Area first team, South Bay Daily Breeze All-Area second team and All-Bay League first team, twice, highlighted by a senior season in which he had 360 kills and 74 blocks. Benesh played professionally in Switzerland after completing his collegiate career as a four-year starter at the University of Southern California. During his senior season, he led the team in hitting percentage, blocks, and aces, while finishing sixth in the country in hitting percentage. Andy and his teammate recently won the Denver Open and placed third in the Manhattan Beach Open. He began his AVP Tour career with four events in 2018 with teammate Cole Fiers. Andy represented the United States on the 2015 U.S. Men's National Team, as well as winning a silver medal with the U.S. Men's Junior National Team at the 2015 Pan American Cup in Canada. His international career includes being a member of the FIVB Under-21 World Championship in Mexico, winning a bronze medal at the 2014 NORCECA Men's U21 Continental Championship in El Salvador, and a silver medal at the 2013 AAU Junior Beach National Championships.
