Alyssa Thomas is a professional basketball player for the Connecticut Sun of the WNBA. A unanimous All-American and Pennsylvania AAAA State Player of the year in 2010 at Central Dauphin High School, Thomas played college basketball at the University of Maryland. In her four years with the Terrapins, Thomas cemented her legacy as one of the best players in program history, winning ACC Player of the Year three times, First-Team All America twice, ACC Rookie of the Year in 2011, and ACC Female Athlete of the Year in 2014. Thomas is also Maryland's all-time leader in scoring, rebounding, and double-doubles. The 4th overall pick in the 2014 WNBA Draft, Thomas quickly made a name for herself, averaging 10 points and 5.1 rebounds per game en route to being named to the All-Rookie Team. Thomas is a two-time WNBA All-Star, made the All-Defensive First Team in 2020 while leading the league in steals, and holds career averages of 11.2 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.3 steals per game.
