Starling Marte is an MLB outfielder for the New York Mets. He formerly played for the Miami Marlins. He made his MLB debut in 2012 with the Pittsburgh Pirates and has also played for the Arizona Diamondbacks. Marte is an MLB All-Star and a two-time Gold Glove Award winner. During the 2019 season, Marte set a career-high 23 home runs and 82 runs batted in.
Off the diamond, Marte is nicknamed Tato. He taught himself how to play the piano and loves seafood, especially oysters. His favorite pastime is swimming with his children and loves luxury fashion. His dream is to one day own a Ferrari, and he is very humble, as he was raised in a small town in the DR by his aunts and grandmother.
